The Cartoonist's Lament

Jack Vektor, a disgraced Arcanum Investigator, is exiled to the shimmering, surreal metropolis of Aethelburg. He thought he'd escaped the ghosts of his past, but when a living, breathing Toon—a creature of pure belief—is found murdered, Jack is dragged back into the game. The suspects are reality-warping celebrities, the murder weapon is a forgotten memory, and the only clue is a cryptic Pez dispenser that hums with divine power. To solve this impossible crime, Jack must confront the very trauma that gave him his powers, a force that threatens to unmake him before the city's weeping mirrors swallow him whole.
