The Watcher's Game

The Watcher's Game

by Manuel Lopez

My wife started a terrifying game. She would stand in the dark, motionless, for hours. She told me the rules were simple: I had to keep watching her. If I looked away, she would forget how to stop. Now, she's gone, and the house is filled with smashed mirrors and bloody secrets. I thought the game was over. But I just found videos of me sleeping on my own phone, and in the last one, her body is on the floor, mouthing two simple words: You blinked.
