The Upside-Down Grin

I used to joke with the ghosts I thought were watching me. Then one night, one of them showed itself—an upside-down girl with bloodshot eyes grinning from under my bed. My mother warned me that belief can make things real. Now, I'm trapped in a nightmare of my own making, hunted by a creature that feeds on my fear. To survive, I have to un-believe it, but how do you kill a thought that's already looking right at you?
